Last Year...

Well... I thought I would post one of the pieces I started last year, but did not finish. This was the first vehicle I ever modelled using Maya. Before I began this project I collected over 400 photographs of a unique touring car (BMW 2002 classic touring car). Due to having no correct blueprints I found this process difficult. As time went by I found that the vehicle was not as accurate as I would like it to be, because I was under a time limit I had to proceed rather then spend time correcting my mistakes. Here are some results of my progression.

Texture Applied to the Vehicle.

UV Map Of The Vehicle.

Render Test of the Cars Headlight Using Normal Mapping.

Coming to my final semester at University I had to decide what I was going to do for each of my modules. After recently modelling a 'BMW 2002 Classic Touring Car' I thought I would take my vehicle modelling skills further and attempt to produce a motorbike. After endless researching I finally found a bike I found fascinating, this was the 'Confederate Hellcat x132'. With plenty of high quality reference images provided on the Confederate website ( I was eager to start! Here is my progress so far.

Fresh Start

I am currently a Visual Effects student studying at Staffordshire University, England. As I am coming to the end of my time at University, I am starting to become confident in producing, what I see as quality pieces of work. So maybe it is time to start a blog... I shall be posting all my current projects and 'blogging' all of my progress for each individual project. Enjoy!
